Slate Focus ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that adds a reading ruler and focus mode to web pages. This policy explains what data the extension touches and how.
We (the developer) do not collect, store, or have access to any of your personal data, browsing history, or page content. Slate Focus does not use analytics, does not track you across sites, and does not send page content anywhere.
Your customization settings (spotlight height, dim strength, color, font size, paragraph width, edge softness) are stored using Chrome's built-in storage API, on your own device only. They are never transmitted to us or to any third party.
If you purchase Slate Focus Premium, payment is handled entirely by ExtensionPay and Stripe, not by us. We never see, receive, or store your card number or other payment details. ExtensionPay stores your email address (used for login/purchase-restore on other devices) and payment status (paid or not) on their servers. See ExtensionPay's privacy policy and Stripe's privacy policy for details on how they handle that data.
activeTab — lets the extension act on the current tab only when you click the toolbar icon, use the keyboard shortcut, or open the popup. It cannot read or act on tabs you haven't directly interacted with.scripting — needed to inject the focus-mode overlay and readability styles into the current page when you turn it on.storage — needed to remember your customization settings and premium status locally.Slate Focus never requests permission to read your browsing history, your other open tabs, or any page you haven't explicitly activated it on.
Slate Focus is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at the same URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
